Frequently Asked Questions

Why play club volleyball?

The benefits of club volleyball are endless.  For serious high school players and players wanting to continue their volleyball career at the collegiate level, club volleyball gives those athletes the opportunity to develop their skills during the off-season. Players benefit from over 100 practice hours with high level coaches, as well as match experience during tournaments. Tournaments also allow players to play in front of college coaches, which assists in the recruiting process. But most of all, club volleyball players come away from each season with great memories and lifelong friends.

Why should I play at Indy Juniors?

There are dozens of organizations in our area that offer club volleyball, making it hard to choose which club is right for your daughter. At Indy Juniors, we feel our core strengths set us apart from the other clubs. With quality coaching at all levels, a positive club atmosphere, and assisting student-athletes in playing volleyball at the collegiate level, we feel strongly about what we have to offer every player who walks through our door..  Our focus is NOT about what the player can offer Indy Juniors, but what Indy Juniors can offer each of our players. You can find more information about our core strengths in the About Us section of our website.

How much does it cost?

Unfortunately, club volleyball isn’t inexpensive. With court costs, membership registration fees, and tournament fees, no volleyball club can offer a quality product inexpensively.  At Indy Juniors, we do everything we can to keep your club costs as low as possible.  We are also very honest with families about the total cost of the club volleyball experience. Our prices include all tournament registration fees, team apparel, coaching fees, and travel.  It is our policy to give you the total estimated amount up front, instead of adding multiple expenses as the season progresses. All of our club costs and payment schedules can be found in the Pre-Season Information Packet in the About Us section of our website.

Will playing club guarantee a college scholarship?

No club can guarantee a college scholarship to any player, however at Indy Juniors we are pleased to be able to say that every Indy Juniors player who has wanted to play volleyball in college has had that opportunity. Throughout our existence we have assisted over 50 players in fulfilling their dreams to play college volleyball. Our College Recruiting Coordinator works with every player and family to create an individual plan that meets the academic, athletic and financial needs of the student-athlete.

My daughter is only 11 years old, do you have a team for her age?

We currently offer teams for high school seniors through fifth graders. Our 12s teams include fifth and sixth graders and focus on the fundamentals of volleyball. Indy Juniors also provides several opportunities for elementary students, including summer camps and private lessons. Check out our events list for upcoming camps or contact our office for more information on opportunities for all ages.

How does your invoicing process work?

In an effort to better serve our Indy Juniors families, we have hired a professional to handle all of our billing and invoicing. The payment schedule is listed above in our Pre-Season Information Packet, and is dependent on the level of team you are involved with. Statements are mailed monthly to families, with detailed descriptions and amounts for new expenses and a current balance. If questions or concerns arise about your bill or current balance, a staff member is always available to assist.

What apparel is included with the club fees?

Our National teams receive two dress jerseys, a t-shirt jersey, three pairs of spandex, a pair of kneepads, a warm-up jacket and pants, a pair of shoes, and an embroidered Indy Juniors bag. All of our regional teams receive a dress jersey, t-shirt jersey, two pairs of spandex and a pair of kneepads. All players have the option of purchasing extra items... spandex, bags, kneepads, shoes, etc.

How much do the teams travel?

At Indy Juniors, we have two levels of teams, National and Regional. Our National teams play in about 10 tournaments, including two national qualifying tournaments, the Hoosier Regional tournament, and either Junior Olympic or AAU Nationals. Our Regional teams, play in about 8 tournaments, including several local tournaments, a regional tournament (within driving distance), and one national qualifying tournament in Indianapolis.

What’s the difference between the National teams and Regional teams?

Do you have any former players playing in college?

Yes, we are thrilled to publicize that over 50 Indy Juniors players have pursued their dreams of playing volleyball at the collegiate level.  We have players currently playing across the country, with several more joining the collegiate ranks annually. Our class of 2006 included Kelly Whittaker, from New Palestine High School, who is now playing at Indiana State University, Mandy Harris, from Lawrence North High School, who is currently playing at Hanover College, and Laura Waltz, from Heritage Christian, now playing at Cornerstone University. Don't miss the Alumni section of our website for a complete list of all of our Indy Juniors alumni!

Do I need to attend all of the tryout sessions?

No, you do not need to attend all of the tryout sessions. We do, however, encourage players to attend as many sessions as possible . This allows us to see each player as much as possible, to help ensure accurate team placement.

What type of qualifications do your coaches have?

We firmly believe that great volleyball players are developed in practice by quality coaches, so we stress the importance of our exceptional coaching staff. All of our National teams and the majority of our Regional teams have two strong coaches to train and develop every player on the team. Our coaches include former All-Americans, Division I college coaches, former college athletes, and some of the top high school coaches in the state. Our staff brings countless years of coaching and playing experience, in an effort to develop each player to her full potential.  Our National Coaches are some of the best around, but we also know the importance of quality coaching for our younger players and regional teams. At Indy Juniors everyone gets the training they need from a lineup of quality coaching at all levels.
